CHICKEN LIVER BROWNIES
1 pound raw Chicken Livers, 1 Egg, 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 cup Cornmeal, pinch of Salt, 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder, 1/4 teaspoon Oregano
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9"x13"x2" pan with nonstick cooking spray. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Put chicken livers and egg in blender and mush. Add chicken liver/egg mixture to dry ingredients and mix with a spoon. Poor into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until firm to the touch.
Cool, cut into bite sized pieces and store in refrigerator or freezer in plastic bags.
For firmer treats, scatter cut treats on a cookie sheet, return to low-heat oven for 1-1 1/2 hours until crispy.
TREATS
Slice chicken wieners into 4 strips lengthwise then slice those into small pieces. Place on a paper towel and
microwave for a couple of minutes on full. Stir up and microwave again for a minute. They should start to puff up
and be crisp but not burnt. Mix with dogs regular kibble for training treats. The smell of the wiener mixes with the
kibble and makes the kibble more interesting.
BREAKFAST BAR
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup of 7 grain cereal (or similar0
2 eggs
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup sassflower oil
1 tbsp honey
You can also add raisins, vegies, fruit etc. Add boiling water to make it workable. Pour into baking pan and bake
45 minutes at 350 degrees.
ECONOMICAL COOKIES
1/3 cup softened margarine (butter)
3 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup powdered skim milk
1/4 tsp garlic powder
3/4 water at room temperature
1 egg (beaten)
In a large mixing bowl cream margarine and flour with a pastry cutter and set aside. In a small bowl dissolve
powdered skim milk and garlic powder in water and whisk in beaten egg. Make a well in the flour mixture and
gradually stir in egg mixture until well blended. Knead dough on a floured surface 3-4 minutes until dough
sticks together and is easy to work with. With a rolling pin, roll dough to between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut with a cookie cutter and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 50 minutes at 325F. Cool on a rack
until hard and store at room temperature in a container with a loose-fitting lid. (Can also be easily stored in
freezer for future use.)
GOLDEN CHEESE DREAMS
3 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp gralic powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded cheese
1 egg (beaten)
1 cup milk
In a large mixing bowl combine flour and garlic powder. Make a well in the flour mixture and gradually stir in
vegetable oil, cheese, beaten egg and milk until well blended. Knead dough on a floured surface about 3-4
minutes. With a rolling pin, roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutter and place on lightly greased
baking sheet. Bake 25 minutes at 400F. Cool on a rack and store at room temperature in a container with a
loose-fitting lid. (Can store in freezer.)
SNIFF'N'BITE BISCUITS
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup powdered skim milk
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup softened margarine (butter)
1 egg (beaten)
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp ice water
In a large bowl, combine flour, powdered skim milk, sugar and garlic powder. With a pastry cutter, blend in
margarine. Make a well in the flour mixture and gradually stir in egg and ice water until well blended. Use hands
at the end to form a ball. Divide dough into 2 balls so it is easier to work with. Knead each ball on a floured
surface for about 2 minutes. With a rolling pin, roll dough to between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with
biscuit cutter and place on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake 30 minutes at 350F. Cool on a rack and store
at room temperature in a container with a loose-fitting lid. (Can store in freezer.)
LIVER TREATS
1 lb beef liver
2 garlic cloves
1 box corn muffin mix
Pre-heat oven to temperature given in corn muffin directions. Mix liver and garlic in a blender or food processor,
then process until liquid. Stir in muffin mix, then scrape onto a baking sheet and pat to approx. 1/2 to 1 inch
thickness. Bake until very firm but not burned. Cut into squares and then store in fridge or freezer.
BOW WOW BISCUITS
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
8 tbsp bacon grease (or margarine)
1 egg (beaten)
1 tsp brown sugar
2 tbsp beef (or chicken) broth
1/2 cup ice water
6 slices of bacon (crumbled)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
In a big mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form a dough. Roll the dough out with a rolling pin and
use a cookie cutter to make shapes for cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
BABY FOOD DOGGY COOKIES
3 jars baby food (beef, chicken or carrot) strained
1/4 cup cream of wheat (or wheat germ)
1/4 cup powdered milk
Combine ingredients in bowl and mix well. Roll into small balls and place on well-greased cookie sheet.
Flatten slightly with a fork. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes until brown. Cool on racks and store in
refrigerator. Freezes well.
PEANUT BUTTER DOG BISCUITS
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup non-fat powdered milk
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
8 ounces peanut butter
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 cup cold water
Mix above ingredients together, adding water after the other ingredients are mixed. Knead for 3-5 minutes.
Dough should form a ball. Roll to 1/2 inch thick and cut into doggy bone shapes. Bake on a lightly greased
cookie sheet for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
FIDO'S CHEESE NUGGETS
1 cup uncooked oatmeat
1 1/2 cups hot water (or meat juices)
1 cup grated cheese
1 egg (beaten)
1 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup cornmeal
3 cups whole wheat flour
In large bowl pour hot water over aotmeal and margarine, let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in powdered milk, grated
cheese, saly and egg. Add cornmeal and wheat germ. Mix well. Add flour, 1/3 cup at a time, mixing well after
each addition. Knead 3-4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary) to make a very stiff dough. Pat or roll dough to
1/2 inch thickness. Cut into bone shaped biscuits and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 1 hour at 300
degrees. Turn off heat and leave in oven for 1 1/2 hours longer. Makes approx. 2 1/2 pounds.
15 MINUTE LIVER TREATS
1 lb chicken livers
1 cup flour
1 cup corn meal
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 egg
Place livers in blender, liquify. Add egg, mix a minute more. Pour into bowl. Add flour, corn meal and garlic powder.
Mix. Spray jelly roll pan with Pam. Pour mixture into pan. Bake 15 minutes in 400 degree oven. Cut into small
squares while still warm. Keep in freezer to prevent spoiling. Dogs love them frozen!
TAIL WAGGIN' TREATS
3/4 cup wheat flour
1 egg
1 tbsp (heaping) honey
1 tbsp (heaping) unsalted peanut butter
1/4 cup vegeatble shortening
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp vanilla
Heat honey and peanut butter in microwave about 20 seconds or until runny. Mix all ingredients together in mixing
bowl and drop by 1/2 tsp size balls on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. (You can also roll out the
dough and use cookie cutters if desired!) Make treats according to the size of your dog so he gets plenty!
WEIGHT-ON MEATBALLS
1 1/2 lbs fatty raw hamburger
1/2 cup wheat germ oil or wheat germ
3 eggs
3 cups oatmeal
Form into meatballs. Place on cookie sheet, put in freezer. After frozen, put in containers. Microwave about 30
seconds per meatball, depending on size. Give 2-3 per day. Also excellent for the finicky eater.
HEALTHY POWDER
2 cups nutritional (tortula) yeast
1 cup lecithin granules
1/4 cup kelp powder
1/4 cup bone meal (or 9,000 milligrams calcium or 5 tsp eggshell powder) Note: bone meal MUST be for human
consumption - NOT gardeners bone meal.
1,000 milligrams vitamin C (ground) or
1/4 tsp sodium ascorbate (optional)
MAGIC MEATBALLS
1 lb hamburger
2 cups dry kibble
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup whaet germ oil
1/4 cup linatone (or similar)
Grind kibble in food processor or blender. Mix all ingredients together and freeze. Use as needed for treats,
bait or weight gain.
BEEF AND RICE MOOCHIES
1 jar babyfood - beef and vegetables - strained
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup rice
1 package unflavoured gelatin
1 egg
2 tbsp vegeatble oil
1 cup powdered milk
1 package yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 beef bouillon cube
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Add yeast, egg, oil, baby food and dissolved
beef bouillon. Mix well. Mixture will be very dry. Knead with hands until it forms a ball. Roll out on floured surface
to 1/4 inch thickness, cut into 1 or 2 inch circles. Bake on un-greased cookie sheet 30 minutes at 300 degrees.
Store in fridge.
PUPPY FORMULAS
Recipe #1
2/3 cup goat milk canned (or just regular canned milk)
1/3 cup water or pedialyte
1 tsp karo syrup
1 egg yolk
1 tsp dyne or pediatric vitamin
Strain a couple of times to make sure there is no albumin in the mixture, although it has been used
successfully without egg at all.
Variation: 1 can on condensed milk rather than goat's milk (it may be too high in protein and put a strain on
the puppy's kidneys) 1 envelope of knox unflavoured gelatin in addition to the other ingredients (helps keep
stools solid).
Recipe #2
1 cup of canned evaporated milk
4 ounces plain, full-fat yogurt
1 egg yolk
1 dropper full of baby vitamins
Mix well.
Recipe #3
2 cups hot water
1 can evaporated milk (Not condensed)
2 eggs
2 tbsp karo syrup
2 envelopes knox unflavoured gelatin
Mix thoroughly to get the gelatin working.
Recipe #4
4 ounces Carnation evaporated milk
4 ounces full-fat natural, plain yogurt
1 tbsp mayonnaise (Not salad dressing - Not diet)
1 egg yolk
1 dropper full of baby pediatric liquid vitamin, no flouride
Whiz in blender... feed baby.
